'Crooky' became an almost immediate hero to the Turbines fans when completing not one but two penalty saves in the Southern League Premier Central play-off final against Coalville Town in 2021/22 to secure promotion to the National League North.
Previous manager Jimmy Dean identified Peter at the top of his list of recruitment targets for the 2022/23 season, after he was only signed on a loan deal for the back end of the 2021/22 season, and he was signed in the early summer of 2022. Crooky was a vital player in our season at Step 2 and at the end of the 2022/23 season, Crook was awarded Manager’s Player of the Year, keeping over 15 clean sheets in the league.

An experienced Football League full-back, Matthew Tootle was signed in readiness for the 2023/24 season from Grantham Town. Described as ‘a real coup’ by a number of fans of his previous clubs, Matt provides a wealth of experience to a young squad. After dropping a number of league levels last season, he is looking forward to challenging himself at National League North level this season.

Elicha joined Sports on loan until the end of the season from League One side Lincoln City at the beginning of February 2024. Ahui is a versatile player who can operate in both defence and midfield and he provides a huge boost for the squad. He is highly thought of by his parent club and has already had loan spells in the Scottish Championship at Ayr United and Drogheda United in the League of Ireland.

Signed for Sports in June 2021, Ryan Fryatt is a highly experienced defender having played Academy football at Norwich City (including U18s) and also Cambridge Utd.
Ryan enjoyed a long and successful career at Kings Lynn Town before joining National League North outfit Kettering Town in October 2020, scoring 4 times in 20 appearances. He has also spent time at Dereham Town and Wisbech Town.
Fryatt was a massive part of the 2021/22 promotion season at Sports and ‘Streaky’ appeared 43 times in his debut season, scoring an impressive 8 goals, mainly from corners and using his head. As well as this, Ryan was a vital part of our debut season at National League North level and was awarded both Players Player and Supporters Player for the 2022/23 season.

Connor was another one of the signings brought in to bolster the numbers for the 2022/23 National League North adventure and he proved to be a vital part of the squad last season.
A highly thought of footballer within non-league circles, Connor was a product of the Northampton Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers academies, where latterly he captained their U23 team, going on to play league football at Walsall and Kilmarnock. CJ is a player that we admire here at Peterborough Sports, a fantastic defender who formed solid partnerships with his fellow central defenders last season, Richard Jones and Ryan Fryatt.

Lawlor is an exceptional player with a range of passing at his disposal. He was signed for Sports in the summer of the 2016/17 season, helping the club to their historic UCL Premier division title. Dan has been an ever-present player for Sports since his signing over 7 years ago and he can certainly be described as a Turbines Legend by the fans as he has risen through the ranks with the club and seems to get better and better with each season that passes.
Lawlor is an energetic midfielder with arguably the best engine at the club, also the most aggressive man in training.

A very talented and technically gifted midfielder, signed from Northampton Town in the 2017/18 season. Exceptional technically, with great feet and the ability to glide past players.
Josh has had many fantastic seasons at Sports and he had a sensational season in 2021/22 and was one of the standout performers in our promotion to the National League North, scoring in both the play-off semi final and final. His debut season in the Vanarama National League North was also one of note as Josh proved to be one of the main protagonists in what was a successful first season for the club at the level, again scoring crucial goals away at Chester and Hereford.

Signed in the 2016/2017 season, Mark Jones is a club legend who has gone on to make over 250 appearances for The Turbines and scoring many goals.
A vastly experienced striker, Mark leads the line and works extremely hard off the ball. A real fans favourite, Mark's experience proved to be important in our debut season at Step 2 and it will once again be vital for the new season ahead. Mark is a fantastic leader both on and off the pitch for Sports and he is seen to be a great influence for the younger players within the squad.

Signed for the 2020/21 season, Dan Jarvis played for Peterborough United from the age of 8 all the way through to a full scholarship.
When signed, DJ was described as the perfect signing, who is young, athletic and has a great work ethic. Since then, fans will agree that this has proved to be the case as Dan has become a fan favourite who gives his all in every game that he plays.
A key contributor to the squad in many ways, not only can he play in midfield, but also attack and defence when required. He is also partial to scoring a few ‘worldies’ from time to time.

Jordan signed for Peterborough Sports in the 2019/20 season and he quickly became hugely popular with the fans with his dangerous trickery and devastating pace on the wing.
He is an experienced Football League player, having had spells at both Peterborough United and Barnet, Jordan has enjoyed a couple of excellent seasons with Sports, although he suffered a leg break midway through the 2021/22 promotion season and then another leg break during our 2022/23 debut season at National League North level.
Nicholson will be hoping to put the injury woes behind him and continue to be a vital attacking player within the Peterborough Sports squad.

Snapped up from Deeping Rangers in 2019/20, Lewis is another product of the Peterborough United youth setup. Elsom is an excellent keeper and a brilliant club man, who has played a massive part in our back-to-back Northants Cup wins in the previous 2 seasons.
Although he doesn’t get many minutes, Lewis is a keeper that can be relied on to deliver a top class performance when called upon and he and Pete Crook have a fantastic working relationship within the club’s GK union.

Hugh joined Sports in February 2023 after recently playing at Bedford Town. His early career began at Peterborough United, but he moved to Spain for three years after his release.
In Spain he played for Lorca, Hercules B and CD Llanes, before returning to the UK and joining Bedford Town. Hugh is a good all-round midfielder who can defend well when called upon and also likes to get in on the goal act when he can. After featuring in our last few games of the 2022/23 season, Alban-Jones will be hoping to cement his place within the XI and contribute further to the squad throughout the upcoming season.

Manager Luke Steele will be best known for being an ex-professional goalkeeper who has played at the highest level, both in England and across Europe. He notably made over 200 appearances for Barnsley and also 66 appearances for Greek side Panathinaikos, playing in the Europa League.
Since returning to his hometown of Peterborough, Steele has played locally for a number of clubs as a striker, including at Deeping Rangers where he was a first team regular. Although it is unlikely that Luke will feature for The Turbines this season, he is still a part of our squad and you will find him on the touchline managing the side instead!

Described a ‘local gem’ by managers Luke Steele and Michael Gash, Sidney signed for Peterborough Sports during the summer of 2023 after impressing in a number of pre-season friendlies.
Pereira was part of the Peterborough United youth set up for a number of years but was then unfortunately released. Sidney has had experience of playing for a number of local clubs within his early career and he is now looking to make a name for himself within the National League North. He has already become a bit of a fan favourite in his short time at the club already.

Ashton Fox is a young, towering central defender signed on loan from League One side Peterborough United for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Fox impressed managers Luke Steele and Michael Gash during a number of pre-season games and the defender is relishing the chance of regular first team football.
Having played for Dereham Town, Ashton signed for Peterborough United towards the back end of the 2022/23 campaign and he is hoping that the experience he gains at Sports will put him in good stead for a future at the League One club.

Cuba Meyer is a talented, young midfielder who impressed many people during his appearance in the pre-season victory over League One neighbours Peterborough United in July 2023. Hailing from the Netherlands, Meyer has played much of his football within his home country however, before signing for Sports, had trials at clubs including Crewe Alexandra and Notts County.
Cuba is versatile and can play in a number of positions down the left hand side of the pitch.

Attacking midfielder Kellan Hickinson joined Peterborough Sports at the end of March 2024, signing from local Step 5 side Yaxley FC. A product of the Peterborough United Academy, Kellan worked his way through the setup from Under 9s level to gaining a professional contract. At the end of the 2022/23 season, Kellan was released by The Posh and signed for Step 3 side St Ives Town. As previously mentioned, he has most recently been a part of the Yaxley squad.

Kaine signed for Sports in October 2023, returning to the club after a brief spell at the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
Felix started his career at St. Neots and went on to play for Boston United, York, Stockport County, Leamington and Brackley Town before joining Guiseley in 2018. It was while at Guiseley that Kaine played some of his most successful football and he also captained the side on several occasions. He was signed by Jimmy Dean for Sports during the 2022/23 pre-season however, moved to Darlington before the season started. He scored on his Darlington debut and provided a number of goals and assists during the 2022/23 season.
A fast and tricky winger who can cause defences problems, Kaine bolsters the attacking ranks at The Turbines.

The marquee signing of the 2021/22 season, Gashy was to play a big part of the campaign that ended in promotion to National League North.
Vastly experienced beginning his career with the Posh, Gashy went on to make over 100 league appearances and has now agreed to combine a playing role with a coaching role for the 2022/23 season.

Centre half Rory McAuley joined The Turbines at the beginning of February 2024 to help boost the defensive backline. Rory started his footballing career at Cambridge United after signing for their Centre of Excellence. He came through the academy and became a first team regular for The U’s before going on to play for Dartford, Chelmsford City, Lowestoft and Kings Lynn Town. Prior to joining Sports, Rory spent time at Bedford Town. He is strong in the tackle and a natural leader.

Defender Matty resigned for The Turbines in the summer of 2023, after previously spending 2 seasons at the club. He was a vital part of our squad during our time at Step 3, particularly during the curtailed 2019/20 season in which we sat top of the league when COVID struck and also the following 2020/21 season which was also cut short. A versatile full back, Matty was part of a successful youth team at Leicester City and rose through the ranks, reaching the Under 23s and reaching the FA Youth Cup final before eventually being released by the former Premier League club. After spending a couple of seasons at Cambridge City, Matty is back to be a vital part of the squad once again at Peterborough Sports.

Young striker Gabriel Overton joined Sports on a one month loan from League One side Peterborough United at the beginning of February 2024. Overton made his professional debut for The Posh in August 2022, claiming an assist for his side’s second goal. Despite having an injury-hit 2022/23 season, Gabe has shown lots of promise during the 2023/24 season, hitting 12 goals for his parent club’s U21 side during preseason and up to the Christmas break.

Exciting young player Brandon Njoku signed on loan from League One side Cambridge United at the end of March 2024 until the end of the season. A first year professional at The U’s, Brandon has already enjoyed a successful loan spell at Step 3 side St Ives Town this season, where he scored 12 goals in 18 games. He has made 3 appearances for his parent club and looks to have a promising future ahead of him.
